The Cornish Distilling Co was founded by Richard Harding, Fionagh Harding and Tom Read. Having completed a PhD in Chemistry Tom put his exceptional knowledge and love of the art into creating Cornwalls’ first scratch distilled rums and are we’re so glad he did!
In 2017, the first batch of rum was released, ‘Kalkar’, a genuine British distilled rum, blended with single-origin cold coffee brew. Winning 3 gold stars at the Great Taste Awards in 2017, the Cornish Distilling Co have put their name on the map already! Luckily for us, they didn’t stop there, you can find many more of their taste sensations here. genuinebritishrum.com

Below are some of our favourite recipes –
Daiquiri
Though many beachfront bars serve this cocktail as a slush, the classic version contains only 1-1/2 ounces of white rum, 3/4 ounce of lime and 1/4 ounce of simple syrup, shaken, strained and served in a chilled glass
Pina colada
Like the daiquiri, modern versions of the pina colada are fresh from a blender. Combine pineapple juice, cream of coconut and rum, blend with ice cubes until smooth and and add a pineapple wedge to the side of the glass.
Mojito
Squeeze lime wedge into a highball glass; drop lime into the glass. Add sugar; muddle. Add ice. Gently press mint or slap mint; add to glass. Pour rum and club soda into glass; stir. Garnish with lime slice.
