Walking the Coast Amongst the Spectacular Cornish Springtime
One of the things that makes the North Cornwall coastline so special is the unrivalled natural scenery we have on offer here and experiencing it blossom into its resplendence in the Spring has to be seen to be believed. One of the best ways to do this is by taking a hike or just a serene stroll on one of the hundreds of stunning stretches of coast path that Cornwall has to offer. There are literally countless places to start and finish a huge variety of walks, strolls and hikes within a short distance of Wooda Farm Holiday Park that caters for all ages, abilities and energy levels! The fantastic website www.southwestcoastpath.org.uk is a hive of information that allows one to plan walks with detailed maps, walk highlights and even public transport options for when the walk home seems a little too daunting!
Experiencing Spring in Some of the Best Gardens in Cornwall
The climate in Cornwall is quite unique and lends itself to enabling the housing of a wide variety of horticultural wonders. The closest one to the doorstep of Wooda Farm is the resplendent Rosemore, just over the border in Devon, which is home to a number of stunning gardens all kept up to scratch by the incomparable RHS. This glorious garden features a rose garden with over 2,000 roses, an arboretum; herb, fruit and vegetable gardens and an alpine house, to name but a few of the reasons to visit.
For those who are willing to go a little further afield and visit two of Cornwall’s must-see attractions without the summer queues, the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan are also well worth the visit in Spring.
All this and we haven’t even mentioned our very own nature trail that is kept in superb shape all year round by our talented groundskeepers and is the perfect way to let off some pent-up steam if you are holidaying with little ones or for a peaceful morning wonder with a coffee and a croissant!
The Best of the National Trust in Cornwall
You may not be aware but the national trust is a huge part of keeping Cornwall the way it is, with the organisation managing nearly 40% of the coastline. It also helps to keep history alive with an abundance of historic houses, gorgeous gardens and other opulent sites of interest across the length and breadth of the county. You can find a full list of the amazing places they are the keepers of here>
