The beginning of next week signals the official start of Meteorological Summer. It is also the start of the period of the year, after the May half-term and the beginning of the summer holidays, when the kids are still at school, the weather is generally good, the sea is warming, and Cornwall is still quite quiet.

For those of us who are without children, or those of us who have reliable childcare, it’s the perfect time to take a bit of time out to enjoy a cornish holiday park adventure without the crowds, and to make the most of the more adult-orientated treats on offer in Cornwall. 

So, in today’s blog, we will be showing you a few of our favourite things to do when children are not in the picture! 

Rum and Gin Distillery Tour

Currently running one distillery tour a day at 3pm on Thursdays and Fridays The Cornish Distilling Company is the perfect place to spend a couple of hours delving into all things distilling.

On arrival, you will receive a welcome drink followed by a guided tour explaining all about Norton Barton farm and the rums and gin they make on-site, from scratch. The tour ends with a generous tasting session in their distillery bar, which is made from the recycled pallets that their still arrived on!

You will also be able to purchase some of their amazing products and pick the brains of the experts for recipe ideas, so you can take a little taste of Cornwall away with you when you leave. Even designated drivers can join in, getting a mini of their choice to take away with them.

The Loft Cocktail Bar

Serving a selection of Cornish cocktails made using local produce and spirits, our Loft Cocktail Bar is the perfect place to unwind in the evening. Pottery Classes

If can’t get enough of The Great Pottery Throw Down (it’s a favourite in our house) and want to have your very own Keith Brymer Jones moment, or, you and your partner want to replicate ‘that moment’ from Ghost, why not try your hand at the wheel and give pottery a go during your adult-only cornish escape.
